Visitors on South African Safaris to the Kruger National Park Area are experiencing a richer more varied wildlife since the fences came down.

Don't fence me in

I was thinking of fences and that old Cole Porter song, made popular by Bing Crosby, Don’t fence me in, that kd laing revived a while ago. And then I thought of no fences and that lead me to the Kruger National Park and African Safaris, well it led me there in my mind, because you see long ago the whole game reserve was fenced and when we went to visit at certain times of the year we knew we’d find elephant in this camp and buffalo in that area because although the animals movement was restricted they still maintained a migration pattern.

Now, it has all the changed, the fences have come down and the animals move freely between Kruger National Park and the adjoining Reserves and Lodges and game farms. Timbavati Nature Reserve a legendary African Safari getaway shares a common unfenced border with the Kruger National Park allowing animals free range and ensuring guests to the area the opportunity to view the greatest diversity of wildlife that Africa has to offer.

There are also no fences around Londolozi and animals are completely free to wander in and out of the Kruger National Park and neighboring private reserves. Many safari park landowners, who include Virgin boss Richard Branson, have agreed to take down their fences to allow the animals to return to their natural migrations. Since then the richness and variety of the wildlife has soared.
